What will I learn?

Following this training, you will be able to:

  • Contribute to situational awareness as part of the Logistics function for a CIMS response.
  • Contribute to the planning process as part of the Logistics function.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of, and provide Logistics support to, an incident response.

Assessment

Optional but highly recommended to achieve Unit Standard 32166: Demonstrate knowledge of the Logistics function within the Coordinated Incident Management System.

Are there any prerequisites?

  • An understanding of CIMS. This can be either CIMS unit standards (or equivalent) or sufficient work experience to demonstrate this understanding
  • Completion of Level 4 Knowledge of Logistics. This course is accessible free of charge on Takatu (the learning management system for the emergency management sector accessible via a REALMe login). A link to a short assessment will be sent when all modules are complete.

Anyone who will operate as part of the Logistics function within New Zealand’s Coordinated Incident Management System (CIMS).
